This year will bring many changes to High Point Little League. We have changed our name to High Point Pony and our new website will be located at www.hppony.org. You will still be able to access the web by continuing to use www.hpll.org. High Point Little League, Inc is chartered by Little League Baseball, Inc. Little League Baseball, Inc has always mandated that High Point Little League must charter TWO leagues at one time which has always divided our league into two different leagues, the American League and the National League. There is no rule at Little League Baseball, Inc that mandates this dual league operation. This is a rule that is suggested by Little League and they mandate that we follow this rule. Operating TWO leagues duplicates administrative paperwork and divides our league(city) into two different leagues.

Over the past 3 years High Point Little League, Inc has had many discussion with Little League Baseball Inc over the TWO league charter and Little League Baseball will not allow us to charter as ONE league. There was recent discussion with Little League about dividing our city in half either North and South or East and West. Meaning those in the North or West would play at what is now High Point Little League and the South and East would form their own league.

Over the past several years Board Members and members of High Point Little League which included team Managers, Coaches and parents discussed our current TWO league system and dividing our city in half was not in the best interest of our young players, program. After this decision we contacted Pony Baseball, Incorporated and decided to charter our baseball program through Pony Baseball. We are also currently working with Pony Softball to charter our softball program.

You should not notice much change in the way the league operates. Baseball field dimensions will change which will allow for a graduating base paths and pitching distances. We are sure that somewhere along the line we will experience some tough times and we hope that you will be patient and understand the changes that we will be undergoing.

Volunteering at High Point Pony will be very important this year and we can never have enough help. Please let us know if you can volunteer by Managing or Coaching a team or help be a team parent or help working scorekeeping or in the concession stand. By volunteering you can help us keep High Point Pony player fees at an absolute minimum.
